Writivism is a program that brings together close to 100 African writers enrolled as workshop participants, mentors, judges and advisers. A panel of five judges shall short list five outstanding stories. Of these, the one with the greatest impact on readers shall determine the writer to be honoured as Writivist of the Year. The first and second runner-up shall be awarded respectively. To crown it all, five regional winners will also be awarded.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place during the Writivism Festival slated to run from the 18th to 22nd of June 2014 in Kampala, Uganda. The 2014 workshops produced 45 works of short fiction. A selection of these stories shall be published weekly. Enjoy and share your impressions.
