Am I the soldier who never fought,
the heart that was never broken abroad?
Am I the TV that broadcasts visions of a world deranged?
A dream that never came true, that spitting image of a fake you,
An empty promise that was never seen through.
Will it suit me if I love and hate,
when my shoes are untied and I’m always late?
Am I the cartoon that left a childhood memory?
When fortune tellers alert a forbidden territory.
Parading down the streets of London,
I face a new day without a hat.
Sunburn lotion in my scattered hair,
and I’m what they call the earth, sun, moon and atmosphere!
Whom am I, if my God has forsaken me?
A life unlived in an untamed destiny.
